LENTEN BIBLE STUDY: Begins Monday, March 10 from 7:30-9, and also runs on March 17, March 24, and April 7 (no session on March 31). These sessions will be led by Marijka Ulanowicz, who has an M.A. in scripture studies from Washington Theological Union. She will be leading us in a close study of the passion narrative in John’s Gospel.
SPECIAL PRESENTATION ON “SETTING BOUNDARIES” ON MARCH 13th by MARSHALL KNUDSON: As have previously mentioned, the director of the Alachua County Crisis Center, Marshall Knudson, will be coming to share a special presentation on “Setting Boundaries” on Thursday, March 13 from 7-8:30pm at the Green House. We are sure that this will be an immensely helpful and informative evening. All of our volunteers are strongly encouraged to attend, as well as any other interested members of the community. DOROTHY’S CAFÉ: Each Wednesday, we serve a nutritious lunch in a welcoming, hospitable atmosphere. Preparation is from 9:30-12, serving is from 12-2:30, and clean-up is from 2:30-3:30. Please contact us at email@example.com for more information, or click here to sign up.
COFFEE SHOPS: Coffee shops are held Monday, Tuesday, and Friday mornings from 7:30-9:30 AM (volunteers are asked to arrive at 7:15 if possible). We can also use help with cleanup, from 9:30-10:30 AM. Breakfast food donations are needed, including fruit, hard boiled eggs, baked goods, oatmeal, coffee, and juice. Food can be dropped off Monday, and Thursday evenings, between 6:30 and 8pm, at 7:15 the morning of the Coffee Shop, or contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange another time.
MICROFARM WORKDAYS: Each Thursday morning from 8-11:30 is a workday at Black Acres Microfarm, very centrally located in the heart of Gainesville. Contact Jade Allen via email (email@example.com) or phone (352-337-0817) for questions &/or directions to BAM.
HOSPITALITY: We have recently begun offering hospitality to our guests on Thursday afternoons from 1-4pm. We offer things like haircuts, showers, respite, and drinks. If you are interested in volunteering to help with this, please contact Daniel at 863-207-3670, or firstname.lastname@example.org.
ART-FOR-ALL: Join the Art-for-All crew on Saturdays from 2-4pm to help craft beautiful “upcycled” items. Children are welcome!
